Nicole Dade is a screenwriter, story developer and script editor who has worked in the international industry more than 15 years as a writer, script editor, senior funding executive and development consultant spanning film, TV drama, multiplatform and theatre.

Nicole was a development executive at Screen Australia for four years where she managed the funding and development of a large slate of feature film, TV drama and multiplatform projects, working on produced films including The Babadook, The Dressmaker, Lion, Backtrack, Last Cab to Darwin, Jasper Jones, Berlin Syndrome, Ali's Wedding and Hounds of Love. She was the lead executive for Screen Australia’s International High End TV Drama Development Fund.

Previously Nicole was Head of Development at Atlantic Film Group (Dean Spanley) and Head of Production and Development for UK regional screen agency Screen South. Nicole designed and managed high-profile UK development and production initiatives for emerging filmmaking talent, including BFI London Film Festival’s Think-Shoot-Distribute

As a screenwriter Nicole is currently writing screenplays for film and TV, including The Edge of the World, supported by Screen Australia’s Development Fund. Two of her TV drama concepts were shortlisted for Fremantle’s recent Blue Sky TV drama  initiative. Nicole is Associate Producer of Australian feature documentary, Wayne.

Through her company, Dept. of Stories, Nicole is a script editor for writers including Leah Purcell (Cleverman), Grant Scicluna (Downriver) and the Roache-Turner Brothers (Wyrmwood). She is an industry consultant and assessor for Screen Australia, New Zealand Film Commission, Screen Tasmania and Screen West and is a script editor/mentor for the New Zealand Film Commission backed talent development programme 48+.
